My Dad bred working Springer Spaniels, he almost never had them on a lead and he always had at least two with him on all walks. These dogs were trained to walk at his heal and when realised to go and run they would respond to a dog whistle, most of the time anyway, on the odd occasion when they found a scent trail my dad would resort to yelling and swearing, but to no avail as everyone knows that Springer’s have the ability to suddenly go completely deaf. How do you control your dog and would you trust it to walk to deal without a lead?……Posted By Phil
